Hello friends,

I am really excited to share this blog with you that Patricia Mikkelson and I have put together. We thought it was the easiest way to try to get a lot of information out. We are doing our best not to give information in a way that is easily digested.

I hope you will take a moment to scan these blog posts and make any comments you want to make. You need to have an account with WordPress in order to do so:

What may be most important is to come to these two events this weekend. I am giving up other important activities in order to be there because I think they are essential to help me make good decisions about moving forward. Stephanie Rearick, who founded and ran a 2800 member time bank will be at both of these activities. She is enthusiastic about supporting us in energizing the time bank and giving us practical tips and inspiration. She will tailor make the workshops according to whomever is there. I think we will learn a lot.

Here is the information about the events:

Community: Connect! Friday, May 27, 6-10pm Potluck at the Omni Commons More info at

Creating a Collaborative Economy: Sat, May 28, 9:15-3pm at the Long Haul in Berkeley

This is an awesome opportunity for us to connect as a group as well as learn useful information. Plus, we have the opportunity to enroll new members and publicize BACE.

I hope to see you at one or both of these events!

-AZ, with the wonderful hard-working and community-organizing help of Patricia!

These are the recommendations that Patricia and I agree on in order to move forward:

  1. Agree on a clearly-defined team that can make technical decisions for BACE, based on our intention to meet its mission and goals
  2. Create a governing structure that is democratic and supports the work & idea flow
  3. Evaluate Community Weaver 3 and CommunityForge as open source software alternatives to OScurrency
  4. Consider membership in Time Banks USA

Agenda for next meeting: Feedback requested

Of course anyone can add an agenda item to this list. We do want to know ahead of time so that we can be sure to have enough time to cover all the items.

AZ will facilitate the meeting unless someone else has a burning desire to do so. He will be on had via conference call. If you do not want to come to the in person meeting, here is the number to call: (712) 451-0011. Access Code: 433478. Doc: New Work & BACE Path Forward

Carl will be present in person at the Omni Commons with a phone and a speaker so that everyone can hear conference call participants clearly. Please be on time for the business meeting at 7pm  because we will not want to interrupt the meeting to open the door.

Here is the agenda so far:
